Join us for a conversation delving deeper into the world of applied OD within Novartis. Together with Winnie who built and leads the OD function, we’ll demystify what OD means at Novartis: how they define it, how they organise themselves, and the sort of work they do to help bring innovative medicines to patients. Winnie will share a bit about her background and journey as well. We will walk through recent examples of impactful OD work at Novartis. Rather than a singular project, we’ll go through “a year in the life” on an important business agenda via a series of OD interventions that enhance Novartis’ effectiveness and underpin healthy change. Looking ahead, we’ll explore how the focus of Novartis’ work is evolving through concepts like the ‘networked organization’ and application of Gen AI in their business, driving innovation, collaboration, agility and engagement, and where they are increasingly using data to assess organisational health. With lots of opportunity to ask questions and share ideas, we are looking forward to an engaging, informative, and practical conversation.
Winnie Doeswijk is the Global Head of Organisation Development at Novartis, based in Basel, Switzerland. With more than 20 years of experience in organisation development, Winnie leads a community of OD experts who support major business transformations through organisational health diagnosis, operating model design, implementation, team effectiveness, and change management. Besides directly working with executives and senior leaders on projects that achieve real and lasting business improvements, she’s building new capabilities in P&O through practical tools, great partnerships, and deep skill building. Prior to joining Novartis, Winnie spent over a decade at Shell where she led global transformation programs, working with senior leadership teams and managing teams of internal consultants. Having lived in 4 countries around the world and speaking multiple languages, Winnie brings a truly global perspective to her work. She has a consulting background and a Masters in International Business with specialization in Organisation and Strategy from Maastricht University.
